Degrowth Conference Barcelona 2010

In March 26 – 29, 2010 the Second International Conference on Economic Degrowth for Ecological Sustainability and Social Equity took place. More than 500 scientists, civil society members and practitioners from more than 40 countries joined the event hosted at the historic building of Universidad de Barcelona.

This website intents to make the materials, proposals and insights produced at the conference available for a wide public debate.

The Barcelona declaration is an important conference result, which is now being disseminated.

A key conference feature was the participatory process through which proposals for degrowth were built, as well as the promotion of strong interaction between scientists and practitioners, including civil society. See:

Another special element of the conference was the role of posters. See the poster tour, classified according to various topics. The conference also included oral sessions and key-note speeches.

The conference proceedings have finally been uploaded, following the way presentations appear in the program.

In the Other resources section you can find video interviews, movies and poetry.

In About this conference you can find photos, program, members of committees, press-releases and a short report of the conference.

The next international conference(s) on degrowth are now being planned.
